Tanisha Grover is a junior at Dougherty Valley High School in San Ramon, California, and the founder of the non-profit Astro Think. Tanisha’s journey into the cosmos began with an early fascination for the universe’s biggest mysteries: dark energy and dark matter. Determined to move from curiosity to contribution, she committed herself to the field of astrophysics upon entering high school. In her pursuit of advanced knowledge, Tanisha enrolled in the Harvard University Secondary School program during her sophomore year. There, she completed the college-level course “A Short Tour of the Universe Guided by Einstein and Others” under Professor Arvind Borde. She further applied her skills during a three-month internship focused on NASA Data Science Analysis and scholarly research writing, guided by Professor Peter Plavchan of George Mason University. This intensive research culminated in Tanisha co-authoring a research paper titled “Ground-based light curve follow-up validation observations of TESS object of interest (TOI) 3737.01,” which has been published in the George Mason University Libraries MARS Publishing Community. Through AstroThink, Tanisha strives to light a passion for space science in students of all ages. She believes that by sharing resources and making research accessible, she can help empower the next generation of astrophysicists to look up and solve the cosmic unknowns.
